Whispering Winds is a sanctuary home for rescued mustang and domestic horses, as well as several rescued dogs, a couple cows, and 3 llamas. We are not
taking any animals in as a rescue but maintaining those that we have saved to be able to give them the best life possible.
There are some new services in the works that we will be able to bring to the community, which will allow us to use the rescued horses in. Until everything is in place we will continue to maintain "Un Lugar del Refugio" - A Place of Refuge in a peaceful and quiet setting.
The public is welcome to visit and volunteer to assist in some of the ongoing renovations that will make the lives of the animals better. We ask that
all visitors complete a liability release, and all volunteers will need to complete a volunteer application, which includes a background check. We do
this for our safety and for the animals in our care. You may contact us at whisperingwindsanimalsanctuary@gmail.com to request an appointment to visit and the forms.
Thank you all for the support, and patience, over the past tremendously difficult year, which includes the death of our son and my sister. We are excited about
where the Lord is leading us and know that it will be a Spirit-filled journey as we enter our new chapter. We hope that you will be a part of this new adventure and will update you as soon as we can. Please check back often for updates, and may God bless you each day.

Trails End - a program implemented to deter horse owners from sending old, sick, crippled, or dangerous horses to auction where they end up sold for slaughter and to offer financial assistance to owners who need to euthanize their horses (or other equines). A 50% reimbursement* is provided for humane euthanasia as well as 50% reimbursement for hauling fee, if applicable.
Stop the Backyard Breeder - initiated in 2002, this unique program offers a partial reimbursement* (approximately 30%) for castration of stud colts and stallions. This program is available to anyone (individual or rescue) across the United States and applies to horses, donkey and burros.
We attempt to maintain a quiet and safe environment for all our residents. Therefore, horses are available to view by appointment only. Please call to set up a time.
We are also open for tours and to view some of the wild horses in a natural environment. This, again, is by appointment only.
